Pernod Ricard expands

Two years ago, Pernod Ricard, via its subsidiary Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, bought the majority of the shares in the Grand Cru estate Château Sainte Marguerite in Côtes de Provence La Londe with 200 hectares of vineyards.

Now they are expanding further in Provence’s lucrative rosé wine market through the purchase of the four vineyards Château Montaud, Château l’Oasis, Château Guiranne and Château Garamache. Pernod Ricard thus has an additional 280 hectares of vineyards in Côte de Provence and Côte de Provence Pierrefeu.

So now there are two major international players in the rosé wine market in Provence, the largest being LVMH with Château d’Esclans, Château Minuty and several other vineyards and now Pernod Ricard.
